Micrsoft Is Ready to Take On the Big Boys?
Two years ago Chief Executive Steve Ballmer of Microsoft Corp. admitted that he made a serious mistake in not being more proactive in spending resources developing their search engine. But he says things have changed.
Microsoft now has it’s own advertising and search engine platform but the real work it yet to come. Will they be able to make a dent in Google’s dominance of this market?
If history has proven anything it is that Microsoft likes a good battle and that might help them eek out some market share in the search engine marketplace.
Asking J. Grant about this he states, “There are no text books or rules to follow in this type of war, basically anything goes.”
Nielsen/Net Ratings reported that Google had 49 percent of the U.S. search market share in March, while Yahoo had 22.5 percent and MSN Search had 11 percent. Yahoo has been very aggresive so taking market share from them might prove just as dificult.
