Just got an email with this title “Regarding your Yahoo! Publisher Network Beta Key Request” and oh boy was I excited.  The holy grail of website revenue had finally come knocking at my door.

Rumor has it that folks are paying up to $1000 USD for an invite to YPN network.  Rumor also has it that you can earn double what you make on Adsense, which sounds pretty reasonable considering sometimes I get 3 clicks for a grand total of .04, it appears Google does not make enough money already and they keep 98% of the money paid for some clicks.

Well my euphoria was short-lived, inside this email it says…. “Thank you for applying for the Yahoo! Publisher Network beta program. It is currently in beta and we are accepting a very limited number of new publishers, but we will let you know when we launch to the general public or if we are able to invite you to join the beta before then. Thanks again for your interest. We look forward to welcoming you into our program when it is open to the public.”

What a bummer, maybe they realized I was Canadian and I don’t think YPN network supports Canadians yet.
